General information About your trip

What to pack?

The sailboat is a small space, but it has everything you need for a comfortable experience. Therefore, your luggage should be practical and light. Wheeled suitcases are not recommended, as they are not comfortable to take on board. We suggest using backpacks or carry-on suitcases for better organization.

We recommend packing:

  • Swimsuits
  • Light beach clothes
  • Quick drying towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Waterproof camera
  • Waterproof cases for electronic devices
  • Insect repellent (preferably organic)
  • Comfortable sandals
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Books or light reading
  • Chargers
  • Personal medications
  • Motion sickness pills (Dramamine, Mareol, etc.)
  • Passport and Identification
  • Bring your original passport or ID with you, as the authorities may verify your last entry into the country.
  • Seasickness on board
  • If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend taking a pill a few hours before boarding. The most common are Dramamine or Mareol.

    Cash

There are no ATMs or banks in San Blas. Be sure to bring enough cash before departure to cover payments, purchases or any additional expenses. Your reservation may be cancelled if you do not make the corresponding payment upon arrival.

Cellular connection and signal

The companies operating in San Blas are Más Móvil and Tigo. Some sailboats offer Internet connection via Starlink, at the discretion of the captain or boat owner.

Electricity

Electricity on board is generated by solar panels, wind power or generators. It is important to make conscious use of energy, especially at night. Some sailboats turn on the generator briefly at night to maintain the load.

Fresh water

Drinking water comes from water generators or rainwater harvesting. Responsible use of water is essential. Generally one quick shower a day is allowed. It is also important to remove salt from the body before entering the interior of the yacht.

Captain on board

Each sailboat has a captain, who has the authority to make decisions to ensure the safety of everyone on board. It is essential to follow his instructions without exception.

Welcome and safety talk

Upon boarding, the crew will give you a general introduction to the use of the yacht and explain the basic safety rules. This talk is important to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay.

On board: what you should know

This voyage is not a guided tour, but the crew is prepared to help you make the most of your time on the sailboat. Safety is the priority, followed closely by your comfort.

Please note that the crew's availability for socializing may vary, as they have important responsibilities on board. Each captain has his or her own style of operation, but their primary focus will always be safe and efficient sailing.

Some sailboats have captains hired on a rotating basis; we recommend that you consult the specific details of your vessel, as crew roles may change. Captains may be local or expatriate, but there will always be at least one English-speaking crew member.

You can learn more about each captain through the bios available.

Open communication with the crew is essential to resolve doubts or concerns and maintain a respectful and harmonious environment. Teamwork enhances the experience for everyone on board.
